I think I speak for every Canadian environmentalist/smart planning advocate when I say.. WTF!?

I mean, the woman's dead... she can't even defend herself!

"Everyone is welcome! Innies, outies and inbetweenies".

Haven't written in a while, but just wanted to say that Final Fantasy is probably the best thing I've heard in a while.

I missed him at Hillside because I had heatstroke. fuck.

The only thing better than indie Canadian music is gay indie Canadian music.

Also awesome are the $10 speakers I bought off of futureshop.ca that were marked down from $50.

What, useful stuff on the internet!? [Nov. 20th, 2006|04:46 am]
So, I'm pretty sure I've found like the best website EVER!!

You know when you're trying to get free shipping from amazon, but you have like 50 fucking cents before you can get it? Check this out: http://www.filleritem.com/ca.html Enter how much you need, and it'll generate of items closest to your price. Best thing is it works on Amazon Canada, too.

Alright, so I usually love my job, I work at the info desk in the student centre at my university. All my coworkers are awesome, several of them are good friends of mine and overall the job is pretty easy. Also, it's probably the most queer positive place I could work- a third of the people who work there are queer, including the two coordinators of the LGBT group on campus. However, today I had a pretty upsetting thing happen.

Some more background, so on the cover of our school newspaper was a story about how the women's centre which was previously spelled "womyn's centre" was voted at the student council general meeting to be spelled again as the "women's centre". Some random guy calls the desk and starts ranting about it. He asks me "You're a woman, how does it being spelled with a y make you feel?" I'm getting annoyed at this point "I don't care one way or another," I respond.

"You don't understand," he says "these women have an agenda- they want to convert you into a lesbian"

Here's where the shit hits the fan.

"Actually," I respond "I AM a lesbian and I'm really offended by this conversation, so I'm going to hang up now" and I do. He calls me right back and says "Look, I know you THINK you're a lesbian, but you aren't- you can change." I tell him I'm hanging up and I'm calling the police if he calls back again. Of course he calls back, my coworker picks up and he tells her "You can call the police now" and hangs up. As we're calling the police, he calls the police and talks to them- I don't know what he said to them, but all in all I'm pretty freaked out/pissed off by the whole thing. Tommorow night, I was supposed to work a graveyard shift by myself, but thankfully my friend Adam will be there to train a new employee so I won't be by myself.

Overall, I'm pissed off/slightly freaked out it happened like 10 hours ago now, but I still feel drained from it, and part of me feels like crying.

Hilarity [Sep. 1st, 2006|11:05 pm]
So, I'm home for the weekend and discovered that my NINE YEAR OLD brother has been searching for porn on my parents computer as evident from "sex.com" "hotwomen.com" and (my personal favourite) "nakidwomen.com" in the history. I told my mom, she kinda shrugged it off.

Well, at least the little bastard is straight- or at least until he visits "nakidmen.com"

I can accept this [Aug. 19th, 2006|11:05 pm]

Ok, Janeane Garofola is pretty sweet. I was just thinking about her the other day and how awesome she is. Nigel Short is apparently a chess grandmaster which means I appear hellasmart. There's another chick on there, and she seems pretty hot. However, the Jack Osborne thing is slightly disturbing. I think Kelly is kinda cute, so I'll go with that. Honestly, I think my glasses are throwing it off.

Anyone seen Office Space? [Aug. 12th, 2006|01:12 am]
"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

"What about today? Is today the worst day of your life?"

"Yeah."

"Wow, that's messed up."

I almost literally have no food except for three types of canned beans: baked, refried and kidney.  I suppose this makes me a hobo.  I'm gonna try frying veggie salami and putting it in the baked beans- it could work, I suppose.

P.S. I also have flaked nutritional yeast, popcorn, sunflower seeds and curry powder.  If anyone knows of a meal I could make with these ingrediants, I'd appreciate it.

I can't wait till pay day

One thing I've learned is it is impossible to rid oneself of a farmers tan. I wore a tanktop yesterday to the multicultural festival in an attempt to do so, but it just seemed that the lower part of my arms tanned darker than the upper part. Perhaps if I got so long Audrey Hepburn style gloves and wore them around with my tanktop, then it would work.

Also, Matt and I ate very tasty falafel. It was the only vegan thing there, and if I had eaten meat he would've killed me. But the curried goat sounded very inticing.

Am I gay because I love Margaret Cho? Or do I love Maraget Cho because I am gay? [Jun. 22nd, 2006|03:32 am]
"If you are a woman, if you are a person of colour, if you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, if you are a person of size, if you are person of intelligence, if you are a person of integrity, then you are considered a minority in this world. And it's going to be really hard for us to find messages of self-love and support anywhere.... If you don't have self-esteem, you will hesitate to do anything in your life.... You will hesitate to report a rape. You will hesitate to defend yourself when you are discriminated against because of your race, your sexuality, your size, your gender. You will hesitate to vote; you will hesitate to dream. For us to have self-esteem is truly an act of revolution, and our revolution is long overdue."

I just found out that my university has a lesbian pulp fiction collection. That is beyond awesome. I've been obsessed with such novels for years- mostly the irony loving hipster part of my rather than the raging lesbo part. Here is a great online archive of the covers of said books.

I think my favourite one is this.

No wait, I lied- THIS one is!

Good Morning, Boys and Girls! [Jun. 15th, 2006|08:22 am]
I bring you two music videos about the TTC.

The very mellow Great Lakes Swimmers' I will never see the sun and the much funkier Spadina Bus by Shuffle Demons.

I really should write songs about the GRT. Such classics as "Endless Journey" (A tribute to riding any bus from to Fairview), "Why you gone tearin' up my street?" and, of course, "White Trash Thug, You're my baby".

On a related note, I'm pretty I'm the only person in KW that refers to the bus as GRT . When we finally get light rail, everyone will, however. I AM A TRENDSETTER!

Furthermore, I am listening to Jason's radio show on CKMS. He's a god guy and I think he may be victim number one in Operation Find Sarah a Man.
